The New Face of MP3 Players
MP3 Players these days aren't just your typical MP3 player from a few months ago. There are now players made for use underwater, ones that can be worn as a necklace, one that doesn't play mp3s, one dedicated to runners and joggers, and too many others to list.
There's also a jacket out there that has a built-in mp3 player. I even heard that Lance Armstrong has Oakleys with a built-in mp3 player!
Here's a little bit about each one:
Diver Entertainment Systems and iRiver got together to produce an mp3 player that is fully submersible to 200 feet. It's called the H20 Audio DV player, it can hold up to 512 MB of memory, and it's great for Scuba diving, snorkeling, and other water sports.
The EraTech EMP ZII is simply worn around your neck like a necklace. The shiny little player makes a perfect pendant. It has a color screen and 3D menu, which are both very nice. Make a fashion statement with this high-tech bling-bling mp3 player.
This one is the best in my opinion: Sony is coming out with an mp3 player that doesn't play mp3s! MP3 files will have to be converted to Atrac 3 format using Sony's software. And this is supposed to be competing with the iPod?!
You may have seen the Nike branded mp3 players that were targeted toward athletes, but Nike has stepped it up and now has an mp3 player with a pedometer and more!
The pedometer, which is on your shoelace, sends data to the mp3 player through a wireless bluetooth connection. Then at the press of a button the player will annouce speed and distance through the headphones. You can then upload this data to a personal training log at nikerunning.com. There's even a strobe light built into the player to make you more visible to motorists!
Check out the ones you like and remember - Christmas isn't that far away!
